FAQ

Everything you need to know about motorcycle helmets

Which type of motorcycle helmet should I choose?

It depends on how you ride. Full face helmets give maximum protection on the road and track; modular helmets combine comfort and protection for touring; jet helmets are ideal for the city and scooters, and off-road helmets are made for motocross and enduro.

What does ECE 22.06 approval mean?

It is the current European standard for motorcycle helmets. It replaces ECE 22.05 and includes tougher tests, such as impacts at different speeds and at more points on the helmet, plus rotational impact tests.

What is the difference between a CE and a DOT helmet?

CE approval (ECE 22.06) is the European standard and the one you need to ride in Spain and the European Union. DOT is the United States standard. Always choose the approval that is valid in the country where you ride. See DOT helmets.

How do I know my helmet size?

Measure around your head with a tape measure, about 2 cm above your eyebrows, and compare it with the model’s size chart. The helmet should feel snug without pressing and should not move when you turn your head.

How often should I replace my helmet?

As a general rule, replace it after about 5 years of use, and always after a fall or a hard knock, even if there is no visible damage.
